Our poor dog was supper sick for about a week. At first Matt and I thought he has eaten another one of the kids small stuffed animals. Usually when he eats those he's sick for a day and then throws it up. Not this time. He started to get really bad and stopped eating or drinking so we took him to the vet. They did an X-ray and couldn't find anything in his stomach so they sent us home with meds and said if he didn't start eating in 24 hours to bring him back. Well he started drinking but would not eat. Matt and I would set food in his mouth and he would just let it drop out. We took him back in yesterday fully expecting to have to put him down because treatment for animals is so expensive. Neither one of us wanted to do that. He is such a great dog and he's only 3 years old. As we were talking to the vet he agreed to work something out with us and said that he would do whatever it took to save Foster's life because he kind of fell in love with him. What an awesome blessing! They did blood work and it was all normal so the vet thinks he must have eaten something that isn't showing up on the X-ray. Today they are going to do an ultrasound and then probably a surgery to remove whatever is in there. The kids are sad that Foster isn't home but they are thrilled that unless there are some unforeseen complications he will be back to his crazy giant self soon. It has been so precious to hear the children praying for Foster each night. Even Ainsley included him in her prayer. So today I'm keeping him and the vet in my thoughts and prayers and having faith that everything will turn out how it is supposed to.
***update they found an obstruction in his small intestine. They are prepping him for surgery now to remove it***
