Here we go again..

While we've still been trying to get Ainsley's health issues figured out Allie started having some health issues of her own. She's been complaining about really bad pain in her neck (throat) at night, so bad that she would scream herself to sleep. Her neck (throat) also started to hurt all day. She has always had acid reflux but it was never painful so the doctor just had me keeping an eye on it and wanted us to come in if anything changed. Well things had changed!
One night she told me that she just wanted to get rid of her neck (throat) so it wouldn't hurt anymore. We had a long talk about how she was feeling and what kind of things have been going on (she's been very private about her pain because she was embarrassed). One of the things she told me is that sometimes food will get stuck and it takes a few times for her to be able to swallow. She said it scared her and in my head I thought that scares me too. We made an appointment with her doctor the next day. Once we told him what has been going on he prescribed her some prevacid and when he heard about the food getting stuck he said he wants her to go see a pediatric gastroenterologist.
It was a rough few days waiting for the prevacid to kick in but it has and she is so much happier! She is sleeping well and not in as much pain. She says the pain isn't all gone but she feels so much better. We have an appointment at the end of January for the pediatric gastro (we're also on the waiting list so hopefully we can get in earlier). I'm sure once we see them we will have a better idea of what is going on. Until then we just keep praying the prevacid keeps helping her.
